Taking place on Wednesday 20 - Thursday 21 November at Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle this national forum aims to inspire delegates by showcasing best practice examples of innovative, age friendly initiatives. The forum will facilitate the exchange of information, knowledge and experience and explore the role of local and state government in achieving age friendly communities.
The forum theme 'Joining the dots: inspire, connect, exchange, innovate' succinctly summarises the purpose of this event - to provide an inspiring and educational shared learning experience around age friendly concepts.
The event will feature inspirational speakers from a range of organisations, who will highlight successful age friendly strategies and initiatives that have contributed to the success of age friendly communities around the world.

Welcome to the fourth Australian Age Friendly Communities Forum. The LG Professionals WA Age Friendly Communities Network is delighted and very pleased to host the 2019 Australian Age Friendly Communities Forum.
The Forum brings us together from many different communities across Australia, New Zealand and beyond to share, to connect, and to inspire. Age Friendly Communities help us speak a common global language. In a world with many divisions age friendly communities bring us together in a shared commitment to make our communities a better place for older people. Communities where older people flourish are communities that are thriving.
Local and State Government in WA have worked in partnership since 2007 supporting and growing age friendly communities. The WA Network extends its thanks to the WA State Department of Communities who continue to support the work by providing financial support for the 2019 Forum event enabling us to present an exciting group of international and national speakers.
At its heart age friendly communities are about connection. I extend a warm invitation for us to connect across communities, to share our successes and other challenges, to learn from innovative practice, and be inspired to strengthen our work.
