Better Practice - Building Trusting Relationships
Trust is defined as ‘a firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something’. Within local government, a successful outcome for the community is determined by many layers of trust which involve the community, Council and staff. It should never be assumed that trust exists, it is something that we should all continuously be striving to earn. This forum will explore success stories and challenges with building these layers of trust, to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved for the community. We will hear presentations from CEOs, councillors and other stakeholders who all have experiences and stories to tell about building trust in their respective roles and environments. There will also be a panel session during which questions can be put forward by the audience for discussion. This will truly be a session not to be missed!
