Ethical Decision-making and Governance

The community expects the highest standards be adhered to by local governments in the quality of services delivered and in decision-making processes. This one-day workshop will cover key aspects of corporate governance and how your code of practice guides your decision-making processes.

Delegates attending this course will gain practical experience in ethical decision-making. The ethics decision-making modules of the course use codes of conduct, the ethical decision-making tool and real-life scenarios, providing an opportunity for attendees to gain experience in making decisions that are ethical, transparent and subject to review.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the workshop, participants will have an understanding of the:

  • standards of behaviour expected of local government employees
  • principles in their code of conduct and how to apply them
  • ethical framework and its use as a decision-making tool
