Spotlight Event - Reshaping Regional Communities

Tuesday 17 July 2018.

How fostering innovation, local ingenuity and cultural diversity is reshaping regional communities.

Please join us in the picturesque Avon Valley for this unique insight into WA regional communities, to be hosted by the Shire of Northam.

The term 'Regional Community' is usually associated with small, isolated and rural communities, when in fact regional communities are varied, ranging from Regional Cities with populations over 50,000 with diverse economies to, Heartland Regions of less than 15,000 in population - which are shaped by local ingenuity.

This unique Spotlight Forum will explore what regional communities look like, including the diversity and the common challenges faced by regional communities within the Sub-region of the WA Wheatbelt.

Community leaders, local government representatives and the Hon Mia Davies MLA will provide insight into the strategies to overcome regional challenges, inclusive of economic development and tourism initiatives and the role of fostering cultural diversity in creating a thriving and connected community.
