FIRESIDE CHAT: with City of Perth Commissioner Andrew Hammond

The Young Professionals Network invites you to attend the third instalment of its popular Fireside Chat Series. Fireside Chats give young professionals the opportunity to enjoy a relaxed, open and honest evening with an industry leader. Groups are kept small to give the speaker a chance to share their story and answer as many questions as possible.

The network is thrilled to announce that the speaker for this event is none other than Andrew Hammond, recently appointed Commissioner at the City of Perth. As Commissioner, Andrew is one of a three-person panel tasked with restoring good governance to the City.
His term will coincide with the independent inquiry into the affairs of the City being undertaken by the State Government.

Andrew Hammond
Andrew Hammond has significant leadership experience having held CEO positions in Rockingham, Albany, Wyndham East Kimberley and Nannup over his 30 year Local Government career. He holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from UWA, a Diploma of Local Government and is a Fellow of LG Professionals WA and the Australian Institute of Management. In 2012 Andrew was the inaugural Institute of Public Administration WA Local Government Leader of the Year and also received the LG Professionals WA Medal in 2013, for services to the profession.

In his personal life Andrew is a devoted and at times unpleasant Port Adelaide supporter, and enjoys fishing, yacht racing and alpine skiing, when he is not injured.

This event is a unique opportunity for young professionals to spend some quality time with an experienced leader who has been at the top of his field for a number of years and is now seeing the work of local government from a completely different perspective as City of Perth Commissioner.
