Developed in consultation with representatives from across the local government sector, our eLearning Program is 'by the sector, for the sector'. 

The program is tailored for local government officers and offers standardised training modules across all local governments. 

Available modules include 'Induction to Local Government', 'Governance Fundamentals'. and 'Introduction to Procurement in Local Government' all modules comprise interactive features and quizzes to enhance the learning experience.

Induction to Local Government Module
The Induction to Local Government module provides program participants with the prefect foundation of knowledge of local government in Western Australia, and covers the following topics:
  • The fundamentals of local government
  • Responsibilities, relationships, and structure
  • Financing and Procurement
  • Decision-making and Long-term planning
  • Appointment of employees
  • Ethical behaviours


Governance Fundamentals Module
The Governance Fundamentals module will provide local government officers with an understanding of foundational governance requirements.
The objectives of this module are:
  • What is governance
  • Legislative framework
  • Role and responsibilities of Local Government, Elected Members and Administration
  • Decision making in Local Government
  • Delegations, Authorisations and Acting Through
  • Ethical Behaviours

Introduction to Procurement in Local Government Module
The Introduction to Procurement module is another interactive e-learning program with easy to understand content and engaging designs to ensure learners retain knowledge and concepts.
This module covers the following topcis:

  • Probity and Conflict of Interest
  • Legislative and Regulatory Framework
  • Delegations
  • Regional Price Preference

Local governments have the option to either purchase the module SCORM file (each module has its own SCORM file) which can be added to their own learning management system and will provide unlimited enrolments for employees, OR to enrol individuals into the program via LG Professionals WA

Pricing
Pricing is as follows:
  • Per SCORM File per module: $3,000 + GST (unlimited access via the LG's LMS), OR
  • Per enrolment per module: $110 + GST (access via LG Professionals WA)
Local governments looking to enrol individuals via LG Professionals WA may also opt for an enrolment package that provides significant savings.

Packages are available as follows:

  • 5 enrolments $500 + GST (Save $50)
  • 10 enrolments $900 + GST (Save $200)
  • 15 enrolments $1,400 + GST (Save $250)
Local governments who hold a Gold Local Government Membership are eligible to use their $200 training credits towards the purchase.
