Call out for papers and presenters

The LG Professionals WA Communications Network Forum, Commtelligence, brings together the professionals and the projects reaching, engaging and communicating with communities across our state.

Through a thoughtful program of presentations, masterclasses and networking opportunities, communications and marketing professionals will come together for a one-day Forum to share the knowledge, insights and issues influencing local government communications, learning to better serve communities in Western Australia.

LG Professionals WA Communications Network invites submissions for potential presentations to help shape the agenda.

If you have a paper, presentation or project on best-practice communications, we want to hear from you!

What we are seeking

Share your knowledge to support the sector, promote your project, or spark a thought-provoking discussion on an emerging issue.

From excellence in accessibility, to innovative use of intelligence, or leveraging a landmark opportunity: Commtelligence will bring together an agenda showcasing innovative, ethical, representative and effective communications delivering great outcomes for communities.

A balance of rural/remote, regional and metropolitan areas will be included. Presenters representing local governments and relevant external agencies are invited to apply.

Presentation formats

Based on past attendee feedback, the Forum may include three styles of presentation:

  1. Presentation sessions (30 - 45 minutes). Sessions run concurrently, with speakers addressing participants.
  2. Masterclass workshops (90 minutes). Sessions are booked by participants and will be conducted as facilitated workshop style sessions with clear outcomes.
  3. Conversation Cafe (10 minutes). Participants move around stations in a room, listening to presenters giving short 10-minute project snapshots. A great option also for those of you who are new to public speaking - dipping your toes in!

How to apply

Applications are now open and will be accepted until 17th May 2024.

To apply, please send an abstract of your proposed presentation, project plan, or similar summary to [email protected]. Your submission should be up to 250 words and may include up to two supporting links or documents.

Please include the title of your presentation, the format and your preferred length of speaking time. The Forum Planning Committee will consider all submissions. Successful applicants will be notified by first week of June.
