Waste Operator

Status: Part-time 0.80 FTE

Salary Package: An attractive base salary of $65,156.00 per annum (full-time equivalent). Plus, up to 16% Superannuation, and additional work-related allowances.

About the Opportunity:

The Shire of Denmark is seeking a suitably experienced person to fill the Waste Operator position within the Shire's Waste & Reserves team.

Duties performed in this role:

  • Operation of Council's rubbish truck for Shire resident refuse collection
  • Responsible for managing Council's refuse site on a roster, including reporting, record keeping and taking payments for fees and daily balancing of takings
  • Loading and unloading rubbish trucks and operating the refuse compacting equipment
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Operate plant and equipment and complete manual tasks whilst maintaining the safety of the team and the public
  • Courteous customer service

About You:

  • Experience truck and loader operator requiring a minimum of a HR Drivers Licence
  • Have a strong focus on occupational health and safety in the workplace
  • Reliable, punctual and flexible
  • Capable of undertaking manual labour
  • Have the ability to deliver customer service with confidence and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to multi-task, prioritise workloads and possess strong time management skills
  • Solution focused with a 'can do' attitude.
