This subscription benefit was officially launched by Dan Hookham from Component 6 via a webinar. During the webinar we explored key aspects of AI and the services available to local government subscribers.

AI as a capacity enabler and its invisible role

AI enables teams to do more with the same resources by reducing time spent on repetitive, administrative tasks. This leads to faster, simpler, more personalised, and proactive services improving transparency and creating a more human, connected experience. Staff can focus more on meaningful engagement with the community. Residents may not realise AI is involved but will feel the effects - faster responses, fairer processes, and improved service delivery.

Building AI readiness, strategic use and education

Local governments should foster a voluntary, opt-in culture for AI use, focusing on:

  • Individual, team, and organisational readiness
  • Identifying "hot spots" for AI benefits
  • Recognising not everyone will engage equally

AI strategy should be flexible, not fixed long-term due to rapidly evolving tech and lack of existing policy in many organisations. Education is critical to mitigate risk and unlock opportunity (e.g. data privacy, appropriate use cases).

AI Foundations workshop – onsite workshop for up to 20 attendees.

AI Readiness assessment - Assessment across your organisation of your readiness to adopt AI. A dynamic report will be produced, providing scoring and highlighting the likelihood of AI adoption in different parts of your organisation along with areas that may drive significant benefit. 

AI Policy - Creation of an AI policy in line with your policies, the states AI policy, federal governments AI policy and National AI centres guidelines. 

AI Strategy - Aligned to your AI Policy, this is how the LGA builds capability (muscle) and where they target that muscle, when and why. Includes a roadmap of activities for the next two FY. 

AI Partner - An annual subscription whereby Component6 set up a weekly, monthly and quarterly set of activities in your organisation focused on educating staff, giving them a tool to manage AI ideas, provide 'Genius bar' support for them, provide monthly reports in benefits identified, people trained and risks as well as quarterly 'sharing sessions' to proliferate successes across the org.

  • Subscribers can save $300 - $3000+ by accessing discounted workshops, policies and strategy documents.
  • In some cases, the savings alone can cover the cost of the subscription.

Buying groups & bands

  • Local government subscribers can purchase services as individual organisations (Band 1-2) or in group bundles (Band 3-4, up to five LGs per group).
  • Group purchases reduce per-organisation cost but come with less tailoring.
  • Services like AI policies and strategies will still be delivered to each organisation within the group.
